This study investigates the perceptions of transformational leadership in Iranian higher education, focusing on its influence on organizational performance from the student perspective. Addressing the complex challenges of outdated pedagogical methods and bureaucratic hurdles highlighted by Abbasi and Zamani-Miandashti (2013), our research utilizes open-ended questionnaires to collect detailed and nuanced insights. Outdated pedagogical methods and bureaucratic hurdles pose significant barriers to innovation and effective teaching, making it crucial to explore alternative leadership approaches to drive positive change. Findings reveal transformational leadership boosts student motivation by inspiring and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. Professors who exhibit transformational leadership qualities create positive learning environments conducive to intellectual growth and critical thinking. Students report feeling more engaged and supported, contributing to their academic success and personal development. Transformational leadership fosters a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability, essential for addressing the dynamic needs of higher education. Our results suggest the adoption of transformational leadership practices can enhance the quality of education in Iran. By motivating students and creating supportive learning environments, transformational leaders can help bridge the gap between current educational practices and the demands of the modern world. This study underscores the importance of leadership in shaping educational outcomes and highlights the potential benefits of transformational leadership in overcoming existing challenges.
