Effects of Transformational Leadership on Teacher Development and Job Satisfaction

Abstract

A staggering 44% of teaching professionals are now experiencing burnout. Teacher work dissatisfaction arises from ineffective leadership practices leading to faculty attrition and harming student academic performance. Implementing transformational leadership creates better motivation levels, boosts teamwork performance, and increases employee job satisfaction since satisfied teachers lead to better student outcomes. This study is a systematic review of the literature to determine general findings and detect gaps using key databases including ProQuest, ERIC, and Google Scholar. The study focuses on major themes such as leadership direction, the educational environment, and the teacher’s physical and mental wellness. Findings demonstrate how leadership can direct professional development to foster job satisfaction and resilience. Future research can include longitudinal surveys to track leadership changes across time, as well as interviews with teachers to get their perspectives on effective leadership.
