Transformational Leadership Perspectives on Human Dignity in Iranian Industrial Organizations

Human dignity is a vital concept in the workplace as people work collaboratively towards a common goal. An organization is full of interaction and communication among individuals including leaders and followers who have their roles and perform their duties. Leaders and their leadership styles impact the flourishing of human dignity by respecting values and diversity. This action research study explores transformational leadership perspectives on human dignity in Iranian industrial organizations with the four components of transformational leadership including idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration through attribution and individualized consideration through leader behaviour. A qualitative design was selected using a questionnaire distributed to participants who had experience in Iranian organizations. Findings of the research show all four components of transformational leadership have a significant and positive impact on human dignity in Iranian industrial organization and some had the potential to have a negative impact on human dignity. Results show human dignity is lapsing in Iranian industrial organizations.
