Developing individuals and the team is the prime task of a responsible leader. In order to meet that task, leaders are expected to make themselves familiar with the concept and practice of counselling. Those specialize in counselling assist individuals to understand their problems, realize their options, recognize their choices, and develop solutions to meet their life and career challenges. Therefore, here is where counselling and talent development management are closely connected. Within professional psychology, counselling psychology is a health service concerned with assisting people in overcoming a range of emotional, social, and personal obstacles. It entails putting psychological ideas, concepts, and methods to use to promote mental health, personal development, and general wellbeing. Meanwhile, talent development is concerned with recognizing and enhancing each person’s unique qualities, capacities, and potential. It entails the methodical and purposeful process of improving abilities, know-how, and proficiency to fulfil one’s potential both personally and professionally; hence, to help people reach their objectives and realize their full potential, counselling becomes an essential part of leadership and talent development management. On that note, this paper highlights how counselling can positively improve talents and human resources (HR) in an organization.
