Dr. Hyne-Ju Huizenga, founder and Editor Emeritus of JOISS® Research Journals, has a career spanning over 30 years. Throughout her tenure in business management, she worked alongside her major brand’s national marketing director for notable collaborations with the BC Lions and TSN. Adept at overseeing operational transformations, Dr. Huizenga steered struggling units towards stability, facilitating brand transitions amidst mergers and acquisitions. Dr. Huizenga was also the executive director of a non-profit family place society collaborating with indigenous communities in British Columbia, Canada.
Dr. Huizenga is an alumnus of Harvard University, where she completed the Public Leadership program under the tutelage of renowned Dr. Ronald Heifetz. She obtained both her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Leadership from Trinity Western University and completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Management with a Leadership and Organizational Change specialization from Walden University.
Higher education has benefitted from her expertise in her role as a professor for Trinity Western University’s Master of Arts in Leadership program, focusing on Business Stream, foundational, and capstone courses, as well as her role as a professor for Florida Christian University’s Master of Science in Neuromarketing and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Coaching programs.
Driven by Dr. Huizenga’s unwavering passion for academia and a profound desire to uplift international scholars, the Journal of International Student Studies (JOISS®) was created.
Meher Ahmed brings over 15 years of experience to the forefront of media and brand strategy, including working with the largest women’s publication in India. She has worked with the global top-ranking foreign policy think tank ORF and as a creative director at advertising agencies in Dubai and India. Meher’s portfolio includes campaign work for brands such as Disney, Coca-Cola, and McDonald’s and personal brands for luminaries including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and AR Rahman (Academy and Grammy Winner).
Meher’s contributions also feature active mentorship and pedagogic roles with Master’s and Graduate design students at leading Indian design institutes including Pearl Academy and NIIFD. Recognized for her contributions to fashion, media, and advertising on both national and international stages, Meher Ahmed’s work has been showcased through various interviews, editorials, and panel discussions.
Meher Ahmed holds a Master of Arts in Leadership, business stream, from Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada, where she also had a collaborative role as a technology partner, enhancing the educational landscape through digital innovation. Her extensive experience and expertise in publishing, media, and technology laid the strong foundation for JOISS® Research Journals.
Dr. Ninad Sunilkumar Bhatt brings over two decades of academic experience, including professor in electronics and communication and Dean of academics and research and development in private engineering institutions in India, to his role as Editor – Engineering for JOISS® Research Journals, overseeing an elite group of peer reviewers. Dr. Bhatt has extensive practical experience as a quality control engineer and has made significant contributions to his field by authoring and presenting over 50 research publications at renowned national and international conferences and journals. His expertise has earned him a role as a reviewer for distinguished international journals, including the International Journal of Speech Technology published by Springer. Dr. Bhatt’s commitment to education extends to mentoring and supervising students in their doctoral studies and actively participating in faculty and student development programs to share his expertise with expert talks on speech signal processing and wireless communication networks. His academic journey includes completing a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, a Master of Engineering in electronics and communication systems from Dharmsinh Desai University, a Master of Arts in leadership from Trinity Western University in Canada, and a Doctor of Philosophy in electronics and communication engineering from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.
Abisola Oshinusi is a legal practitioner, regulatory compliance expert, and risk management professional with 20 years of experience across the energy, government, finance, and oil and gas sectors. Currently, she serves as a CIP Investigations Lead at BC Hydro where she investigates cybersecurity and physical security threats and develops controls to mitigate compliance risks. Her work ensures the reliability and security of the North American Bulk Electric System, safeguarding public safety and national security.
Previously, Abisola Oshinusi worked at the City of Vancouver, supporting the development of corporate compliance aligned with ISO 37301. Before moving to Canada in 2021, she held key roles in revamping West Africa’s electricity regulatory landscape where she served as Governance and Regulatory Compliance Manager at Ikeja Electric, West Africa’s largest power utility, and as a member of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), as well as the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF).
Adaptable, results-driven, and innovative, Abisola Oshinusi thrives at the intersection of governance, risk management, and leadership with her degrees in Law (LLB), Legal Practice (BL), Leadership (MA), and International Criminal Justice (PgCert). Passionate about leadership development and diversity, she mentors young women and advises NGOs on fostering local talent and increasing women’s participation in male-dominated industries.
JOISS® Research Journals welcomes Abisola Oshinusi’s passion to serve others through our mission to provide international scholars with a platform for publication and international students with scholarships based on both merit and need with her legal expertise and focus on operational excellence. Her values and work with NGOs position her well to lead JOISS® Research Journals as the Chair of the Board of Directors.
Peggy Chuen Wai Lo is a strategic communications, compliance, and public affairs professional with more than 20 years of experience across Hong Kong’s central bank, stock exchange, and major public institutions. With expertise in media and public relations, financial regulation, investigative work, and issues management, she brings a strong record of advancing regulatory transparency, public trust, and effective stakeholder engagement—contributions aligning closely with the mission of JOISS® Research to foster global collaboration and elevate scholarly discourse.
Peggy spent over a decade at the central banking institution of Hong Kong, where she served as an official spokesperson, led regulatory communications, coordinated high-profile events, and oversaw public engagement—playing a pivotal role in shaping public understanding of key regulatory issues and reinforcing confidence in the financial system. In parallel with her communications responsibilities, she contributed significantly to regulatory enforcement by conducting independent investigations into internal control deficiencies, customer due diligence gaps, and consumer complaint cases involving banks’ products and services. Her work strengthened regulatory accountability and promoted fairness across the banking sector.
Her broader career also includes significant communications roles within major public organisations, where she managed media engagement, supported policy communication, and advanced public-facing initiatives in close collaboration with community and industry partners. Now based in Canada, Peggy serves JOISS® Research as Executive Director, Strategic Communications & Events, leading outreach strategy, event planning, content development, and digital engagement. Peggy holds a Master of Arts in leadership from Trinity Western University and a Bachelor of Finance from the University of Hong Kong. She is committed to empowering communities and advancing the vision of JOISS® Research of empowering scholars and global knowledge exchange.
Charlotte Wong is a strategic business development and product management professional with extensive experience in client relationship management and product innovation. Her approach centers on building authentic relationships and delivering meaningful results.
As co-founder of an HR and talent solutions consultancy, Charlotte developed strategic partnerships across SaaS platforms, VCs, and startups while maintaining strong client relationships through her consultative approach. Her entrepreneurial mindset extends to product development, where she has been hands-on in ideating and building HR Tech platforms. With her recent involvement in an AI-powered recruitment technology platform, Charlotte is transforming the recruiting landscape by developing solutions that turn recruiting conversations into instantly searchable and reusable insights.
