Healthcare leadership plays a crucial role in shaping team performance, job satisfaction, and patient outcomes. Decreased efficiency and higher turnover rates in healthcare teams, affecting almost 50% of healthcare professionals, is burnout, and transformational leadership can address this issue by enhancing team cohesion, motivation, and job satisfaction. This study focuses on healthcare organizations and how transformational leadership impacts healthcare team functioning to better adapt to challenges such as staff shortages, workload pressures, and patient safety concerns. A systematic review was conducted to analyze existing literature on this topic by utilizing key databases including PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, to ensure a broad range of peer-reviewed research. The findings identified themes on job satisfaction, team cohesion, patient outcomes, and leadership development, highlighting how transformational leadership can improve workplace morale, reduce turnover, and enhance healthcare quality. Future research can explore the long-term effects of transformational leadership through quantitative longitudinal studies and investigate healthcare professionals’ experiences using qualitative in-depth interviews. Understanding leadership’s lasting impact will help create stronger, more efficient healthcare teams.
