With the effects of mental health on employee well-being, productivity, and organizational success, it has become a keen focus of attention in the workplace. Increased awareness of worldwide mental health problems leads to greater recognition that an individual’s mental health might be influenced considerably in positive and negative aspects by their work environment. Workplaces that prioritize mental health promote not only employee satisfaction and retention but also greater organizational efficiency. Conversely, environments that neglect mental health contribute to stress, burnout, absenteeism, and higher turnover rates (WHO, 2022). These challenges underscore the need for businesses to develop strategies that foster mental health and well-being as part of their core operations. The COVID-19 pandemic gave even more emphasis to mental health in the workplace. Shifting to work-from-home setups and adding the pressures of the pandemic, anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems have grown more severe among employees (Knifin et al., 2021).

]]>Onboarding is one of the essential strategies that contribute to the success or failure of an organization since it entails the initial part of the orientation of new employees or workers into the organizational environment, goals, objectives, and systems. Onboarding links the recruitment process and employee turnover in the long run. It is responsible for making the new employees understand and appreciate the organizational practices and endure their duties to further the company’s goals (Jeske & Olson, 2021, pp. 65–69). If well done, it is possible to observe decreased turnover rates, satisfaction, and increased productivity. This essay seeks to discuss onboarding critically by focusing on the effects of onboarding on employee engagement, organizational culture, employee retention and the overall performance of organizations.

]]>ABC Inc. is the pseudonym for a Canadian professional services firm with over 30 years nation-wide presence indicating a strong presence and need for its services in the market. However, trade wars, protectionism, intense competition, lawsuits, and disruptive strategies by new entrants and smaller businesses are affecting ABC and its branches. COVID-19 also presented both challenges and new opportunities. Transformation advisory is one of the core and major practices of ABC, having both internal and external effects; therefore, aligning the core elements of the practice and introducing changes necessary in practice – backed by academic models may play a crucial role in ABC’s success. This qualitative, investigative paper showcases ABC’s analysis on its capabilities as a major player in the professional services industry and explores ways to improve the transformation advisory practice through correlation and alignment of finance, talent, and technology departments. The outcome of this assessment and research highlights the type of changes and re-organizational elements needed for ABC to protect itself from threats, to expand, and to succeed with strategic recommendations for each area of practice.
