The global integration of digital simulations, immersive technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) emerges from an increasing demand for ready-to-work graduates. Research indicates about 85% of jobs that will exist by 2030 already remain unfilled today. Web-based interactive training systems and artificial intelligence tools have proven effective at enhancing student performance in science and engineering subjects as well as business studies. However, limited implementation occurs because of three key obstacles involving teacher preparedness, funding and equipment shortages, and insufficient facility infrastructure. Recurring themes discovered through a systematic review of the literature from major databases such as Google Scholar, ERIC, and Scopus, include the advantages of integrating technology, implementation challenges, and the changing role of EdTech in preparing students for workplaces driven by AI. The results highlight the necessity of scalable EdTech solutions and focused teacher training initiatives. Future studies can employ a phenomenological qualitative approach to examine educators’ lived experiences implementing immersive technologies and an experimental quantitative approach to gauge student performance in AI-assisted learning environments to provide a deeper understanding of how to maximize technology-enhanced learning for workforce readiness.
